Growing up on a wheat field in Eastern Washington, Bill was inspired by hard work and simple living. After graduating from Texas A & M, he hit Wall Street running but realized early in his career there had to be a smarter investment philosophy to share with others.
Moving back to Washington, Bill educated readers about the investment world for eight years in a weekly syndicated column. In 1998, Bill created The Coffeehouse Investor in an effort to bring a simpler and smarter investment philosophy to individuals and corporations. Now in its 3rd edition, the book has enlightened millions of investors around the world. Bill continues to write and has appeared regularly on National Public Radio, Seattle’s PBS Serious Money program, and various local media outlets.
After a 13 year career with Smith Barney, Bill became a principal and fee-only financial adviser with Soundmark Wealth Management, LLC in Kirkland, WA. For the past 11 years, Bill has dedicated himself to helping others navigate the complex investment world building piece of mind and realistic financial plans.
When he’s not in the office, Bill is practicing his golf swing, spicing up his latest cooking creation, working on his next book, and enjoying time with family and friends.
