After ignoring Wall Street, let’s get on with our life one blog at a time … by Julie Klingler
It’s easy to get caught up in the routines of life – you know the daily grinds we create and maintain that keep us sane, regimented, and maintaining some type of controlled chaos. I’m one of these routine individuals – I head to the gym at the same time, visit the grocery store on the same day and nearly purchase the same things, laundry is done on the same day weekly, etc. I like order and thrive in a scheduled environment.
However, sometimes our routines can impede opportunities that come up unexpected and unplanned. Our family decided to hit the open road this week on an impromptu road trip. I can honestly say the 1500 miles has been worth it, my little boy has been able to connect with two sets of grandparents so often missed, I’ve spent quality time with my husband in the car with no cell phones, televisions, or computers to pull away our attention, listened to some great road trip music – thank you John Denver, and found a few small eateries off the beaten path.
It’s opportunities like these that are often missed checking off our daily tasks. Keep your eyes and ears open for your next opportunity and don’t be afraid to explore the open road.
