Here is a poem, just for you. I hope it brightens your day!!
It isn’t how far or how fast that you go,
Or how many of the “right” people you know.
It’s not how many hours in the office you’ve put in,
Or whether you’re thick, or whether you’re thin.
It isn’t important how clean your house is,
Or how well you can blend a perfect Ramos Fizz.
It isn’t how many zeroes are in your 401K,
Or whether you’re allowed to ski at the finest chalet,
Or what color your eyes, or what color your skin,
Or where you are going, or where you have been,
Or how many flowers you have in your yard,
Or whether you thought school was easy or hard.
Or whether your recipes were made to perfection,
Or if you’re a whiz at giving directions,
Or how rich your uncle, or how rich your aunt,
Or whether you prefer to wear skirts, or wear pants,
Would you live your life over, again, if you could?
Can you look in the mirror and say “Boy I was good!”
Have you put forth your best effort in every endeavor,
Regardless of adversity, competition and weather?
Have you been a good son, a good parent, a good friend,
Do you evaluate life’s challenge at each turn and bend?
If you can say yes to these things, then you might,
Be happy for being you, and for getting your life right!
